Summer of Gardening in Portsmouth

With the Summer Holidays fast approaching, and parents panicking about how to fill the long days, it seemed appropriate to write a post about what outdoor gardening activities there are across Portsmouth to get involved in for free.

Gardening in your Community:

Community Allotments -  At the Milton Piece allotments head for the round 'Pod' building and either Tracey or Jenny will be there to welcome you. Get stuck in with harvesting, planting out, weeding, or watering.

Somerstown Community Garden - Tracey can be found at the Somerstown Community garden in the grounds of the Omega Centre every Thursday

Stacey Centre Orchard and Garden - Join Tracey and the team every Wednesday 10 - 1pm for a spot of gardening activity and nature play.

Southsea Green - Situated in sunny Southsea by Canoe Lake, pop in any Tuesday or Thursday to explore the beds, help out with watering, weeding, and enjoying this little urban oasis

Landport Community Garden - Rosie can be found here weekdays working hard in the beds and polytunnel. Come in through the gates and say hello - she'll soon find you an activity to help with!

Fratton Global Garden - Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, 2 - 3pm, Anna or Megan can be found in the grounds of Manor Infant School, planting in the polytunnel of creating the new outdoor beds. Over the summer months, meet at the playground gate on the south side of the playground site by the alleyway.
