Food Industries and Business
This sub group considers the complete food chain; from food production or processing, to retail and the end consumer. We aim to work with a range of businesses - established food traders, to entrepreneurial start-ups. Food Businesses have a vital part of play in supporting sustainable food.
Sustainability means taking responsibility for the impact of your business on society, the environment and the local economy. The aim is to change these impacts from negative to neutral, or better still positive.
Choosing to produce or sell sustainable food means you’ll be making a positive difference to the local community, the environment, to animal welfare, and food waste.
We’d like to see Portsmouth establish itself as a thriving hotspot of exciting food businesses and social entrepreneurs, generating food tourism and regional recognition.
